What's the difference between an extrusion die and press tooling?

The die shapes the profile: its opening is the cross-section the aluminum takes as a heated billet is pushed through it. Press tooling is the rest of the stack in the press that holds and moves that billet. The container holds it, the stem and dummy block push it, and the shear blade cuts off the butt between billets.
