Welcome to the eighth and final installment of Gemini Group’s “Intern Spotlight” series, created to celebrate our bright young interns as they build the skills they need to thrive in today’s workplace. The series features new interns each week, grouped by Gemini Group location.
This week we’re highlighting interns working in various roles at Gemini Group’s corporate headquarters. They are just five of Gemini Group’s 33 summer interns spread among nine locations and 26 departments.
Brent Hurlburt– Purchasing Intern
Secondary Education: Williamston High School
Post-Secondary Education: Michigan State University
Area of Interest: Business: Supply Chain Management
Internship Goals: Brent hopes to become more confident as a business professional, learn as much as he can about purchasing through his mentors, and gain valuable experience as he applies for business programs.
Interesting Fact: Brent is a triplet and lives in the Lansing area.
Colton Palmer – Electrical Engineer Intern
Secondary Education: Deckerville High School
Post-Secondary Education: Oakland University
Area of Interest: Electrical Engineering
Internship Goals: Colton’s goals are to enhance his PLC programming skills, grow his communication skills, keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, and to ensure a career after college.
Interesting Fact: Colton likes assisting with the coaching of the Deckerville High School basketball team.
Ryan Trost – Mechanical Engineer Intern
Secondary Education: Elkton Pigeon Bay Port High School
Post-Secondary Education: Michigan Technological University
Area of Interest: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
Internship Goals: Ryan is interested in gaining electrical experience related to wiring control panels and programming PLCs, developing machining skills through machining experience, learning more about mechanical systems such as hydraulics, and gaining some project management experience.
Interesting Fact: Ryan is a member of the Michigan Tech Baja team where they build single seat, off-road cars to race at competition.
Shaede Perzanowski – Mechanical Engineer Intern
Secondary Education: Cass City High School
Post-Secondary Education: Lake Superior State University
Area of Interest: Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Robotics
Internship Goals: Shaede looks forward to learning, applying his prior knowledge, enjoying his time, and obtaining real world experience.
Interesting Fact: Shaede has a very happy and funny personality that, he’s been told, really is not reflected by his outward appearance.
Shanae Woolner – Human Resource Intern
Secondary Education: Ubly High School
Post-Secondary Education: Delta College
Area of Interest: Business
Internship Goals: Shanae is looking forward to learning the responsibilities of an HR Generalist, learning what HR is actually about, improving her workplace skills, and leaving her internship with confidence.
Interesting Fact: Shanae once rescued a goldfish she found flopping around in a Walmart parking lot.
