Intern Spotlight: Valley Enterprises

Welcome to the fifth installment of Gemini Group’s “Intern Spotlight” series, created to celebrate our bright young interns as they build the skills they need to thrive in today’s workplace. The series will feature new interns each week, grouped by Gemini Group location.

 

This week we’re highlighting interns working in various disciplines at Gemini Group‘s interior trim business unit, Valley Enterprises. They are just four of Gemini Group’s 33 summer interns spread among nine locations and 26 departments. Stay tuned to meet more talented young professionals in next week’s edition.

Emma Cubitt – Lean Intern

Secondary Education: Bad Axe High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Grand Valley State University

 

Area of Interest: Natural Resource Management

 

Internship Goals: Help Valley save costs through lean practices. Learn more about lean and 6S practices and how to apply them. Increase skill level on Microsoft Excel, Minitab, AS400, and other computer programs. Build social capital through networking and new professional relationships.

 

Interesting Fact: The Queen of England has waived to Emma.

David Errer – Engineering Intern

Secondary Education: Bad Axe High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Michigan State University

 

Area of Interest: Chemical Engineering

 

Internship Goals: Experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility. Real world engineering projects and problem solving. Gaining practical knowledge of how the industry as a whole operates. Connecting with individuals in Gemini Group as well as others from corporations working with Gemini Group.

 

Interesting Fact: David has bowled in National College Tournaments.

Hallie Essenmacher – Human Resource Intern

Secondary Education: Harbor Beach High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Delta College/Northwood University

 

Area of Interest: Management

 

Internship Goals: Meeting new individuals and learning from them. Teaching those around me. Making future connections. Making the company better overall.

 

Interesting Fact: Hallie is a twin.

Ryan Sweeney – Logistics Intern

Secondary Education: Ubly High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Saginaw Valley State University

 

Area of Interest: Business

 

Internship Goals: Learning what it means to work in Logistics. Being able to make an impact. Gaining knowledge that will help me during college. Developing better communication and interacting skills with fellow employees.

 

Interesting Fact: Ryan has played in a baseball game at Michigan State University.
