Intern Spotlight: Gemini Plastics, Inc.

Welcome to the fourth installment of Gemini Group’s “Intern Spotlight” series, created to celebrate our bright young interns as they build the skills they need to thrive in today’s workplace. The series will feature new interns each week, grouped by Gemini Group location.

 

This week we’re highlighting interns working in various disciplines at Gemini Group‘s plastic profile extrusion facility, Gemini Plastics, Inc.. They are just three of Gemini Group’s 33 summer interns spread among nine locations and 26 departments. Stay tuned to meet more talented young professionals in next week’s edition.

Michaela Glass – Engineering Intern

Secondary Education: Bad Axe High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Michigan State University

 

Area of Interest: Mechanical Engineering

 

Internship Goals: Michaela is looking forward to learning more about Gemini Plastics, Inc., gaining the skills she needs to succeed in the workplace, developing people skills, and networking.

 

Interesting Fact: Michaela coached girls T-ball for two years.

Tyler Schave – CAD Intern

Secondary Education: Elkton Pigeon Bay Port High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Lawrence Technological University

 

Area of Interest: Robotics Engineering

 

Internship Goal: Tyler’s goal is to gain more experience in Autocad, Inventor, and in the field he plans to work in after college.

 

Interesting Fact: Tyler has built and programmed 12 robots.

Erin Shearer – Quality Intern

Secondary Education: Gladwin High School

 

Post-Secondary Education: Michigan Technological University

 

Area of Interest: Electrical Engineering

 

Internship Goals: Erin’s goals for her internship include introducing chemical foaming agents into GPI’s production lines, learning how to work with other companies and to feel comfortable doing so, and organizing records of parts and materials to make working with customers more efficient. She also looks forward to building lasting relationships with the employees of Gemini Group.

 

Interesting Fact: Erin plays on the club volleyball team at Michigan Tech and she travels around Wisconsin.
